Hue Traits In Horses

Hello to all my fellow Amaretto Breeders!
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Today it’s my turn to post a connection, and I would like to take a moment to talk about Hues in the horses.

Wiki Link Here

These hue traits can be put on the hair and the coat of any horse and give a unique look to it and it is worth experimenting to see what you can come up with, whether it is mixing the coat chill with a blue coat and making a super blue horse or mixing the coat hue teal with a red coat to make a super deep dark green horse… the possibilities are endless, so try them out!

That’s all from me. So check the hues out, mix them up, get creative and enjoy the results of what you come up with.

Happy Breeding, Hugs Marku.

Happy Hump Day Fellow Breeders!

How many of you know that the birth flower for June is the Rose? Well, it is, and, today is Red Rose Day! Observed each year on June 12, Red Rose Day honors the flower that is a symbol of love and romance.

Red roses have held a symbolic place in most cultures around the world since antiquity. In many parts of the world, it is seen as a way to express love, romance, beauty, and respect. The earliest evidence of rose cultivation dates back to about 5000 years ago in China. In ancient Greece and Rome, roses were a luxury item, available only to the rich and the royals, and a muse for painters and writers. Roses have been used for medicinal purposes and for religious ceremonies.

The rose is, also, the symbol of social democratic parties in many countries. In the 15th century, factions battling in England, over the throne, adopted the rose as their symbol. The white rose was the symbol for York and the red rose for Lancaster. The resulting war was called the War of the Roses, which was eventually won by the supporters of the red rose.

Red roses are some of the most popular flowers gifted during holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. In Spanish, French, and Portuguese, rose is the word for red.

Let’s take a look at some of our beautiful Amaretto roses:

In February of 2015, Amaretto released the Valentine Day 2015 Editions. These included “Roses are Red” for the horses, K9s, and chickens. The Red Rose eyes on all had the ability to pass, as did the Rose Heart saddle on the horse and the Red Rose collar on the K9.

Next, there is the horse birth flower eye – Rose Pearl. This eye was used in June 2017, when breed with any color Sorrel, to make the Birthflower coat – Rose Pearl Sorrel! The Rose Pearl Sorrel came with its own special eye, Pearl Rose. The coat on the Rose Pearl Sorrel did not pass, however, the Pearl Rose eye did. And, let’s not forget the brand NEW Rose Agate eye from the 6.01 update!

Our last Amaretto rose belongs to the Barnyard Birds. When the Bird update was released in October 2018, it included a brand NEW breedable – The Barnyard Ducks! From the new Chicken and Duck starter packs came a new set of non-starter Flower Eyes, which included the Rose eye! These eyes do pass.

To celebrate Red Rose day, start breeding your own rose traits! Here’s to hoping everything comes up Roses for you!

Until next time…HAPPY BREEDING! 🌹

Designer Breedables

$

0

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I want to shine the spotlight on YOU and your creations!

Have you thought about a design for your breedables that you would like to create? Would you like to share that with your fellow breeders?

Did you know that you can submit that project/design that you have been working on to AMOC to be displayed in one of the many designer albums on the AMOC facebook page?  Well you can! So how do you go about doing that?

1st decide on your base (coat, breed or style) eyes, mane & tail
2nd decide on what you want to use for the designer traits, for example:
Coat/Hair Hues, Wings,Horns, Saddles,Bridles, Ear Tips, Brand, Socks, Hoofs, Looney Legs, Wild Hairs, Beaks, Legs, Wings, Nose, Paw Warmers, Dipped ears,Wings, Horns, Style, etc.

Oh my so many to choose from but that is where the fun comes in right? You decide what you want your completed project to have trait wise!

Wow, you have done all that? Great!! Now what to do next.

How to submit to AMOC:

Create a notecard and name it your creation name, avatar name & date then on the inside of the notecard list the information about your project/creation, for example:

My Creation by
My Avatar
06/15/19
Horse/K9/Bird/Ponie Stats
Parents Stats

Please list what stats you will want to see on the completed creation/project. It does NOT have to be completed to submit. You can resubmit an update when you have completed your project.  Please do not send updates to add wing, horn and/or saddle styles to the existing designs.  Styles will be included in your future submissions.

Parents full stats (including UUIDs) MUST be sent in with the designer.

Next take a picture of the breedable as it currently looks (you can always submit an updated picture at a later date). Make sure the picture is full perm and drag it into the notecard.

Now drop the notecard into the collection box just inside the AMOC Headquarters http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/A.R.U.%20and%20Events/100/157/21

Do not send notecards to AMOC officers — all notecards/submissions must be put in the AMOC mailbox only.  Notecards that are put in any other mailbox will be deleted.

Your creation will be posted as soon as we verify that there has not already been a similar project previously submitted. If there is already a similar project we will verify the date the picture was taken and that will determine the creator (think of the picture as your copyright)!!

You will only be notified in-world if there is a question about your design. Otherwise, you should be able to find your submission, within a week, on the AMOC facebook page.

You can also see these directions on the website at https://www.theamarettofamily.com/index.php?/topic/19-amoc-designer-submission-procedure/

You can take a look at some of the many AMOC certified designers that have been submitted in the past from Festive Traits, Coloring Book, Sweet Treats, Reds Reds & more Reds and so many more right here https://www.facebook.com/pg/AMOCoalition/photos/?tab=albums

So what are you waiting for? We can’t wait to see what you have come up with!

Until next time this is Snookie hoping you have a fun weekend.

Happy Breeding!

Hello everyone its a Terrific Tuesday here at Amaretto! I wanted to take a few moments to talk to you guys about something brand new in the new 6.01 Update!

Did you know that there is a brand new horse G.P.S.?

Thats right its the Global Pony Settings Weather Vane!

The GPS is super handy and helpful. It can change all your settings on your breedables on the sim with just one click. Not only is the GPS great on your breeding sim, but also at the markets. Most markets want you to make sure that movement, animations, and sounds are all off to help keep down lag and the GPS is the answer. You can use the GPS at the markets as it will only set any breedable that you own!!

The Amaretto G.P.S. (Global Pony Settings) is a tool that will change the settings on all your Horses on one sim all at one time!!

  1. Click the G.P.S. Updater.
  2. Pick your Settings one at a time.
    Movement
    Animations
    Text
    Sounds
    Range
    Home
  3. Hit Activate

After hitting activate your Horses on the sim will all change to the same settings as you chose on the G.P.S.

The new Global Pony Settings Weather Vane, is available at any Amaretto Store!
Well that is it for today this is Ava over and out! Happy Breeding Everyone!

Cheers!

Happy Hump Day Fellow Breeders

According to my calendar, today is another one of those obscure, nonsensical holidays: National Martini Day! Whether you drink or not, everyone has heard of this famous cocktail.

“I never go jogging, it makes me spill my martini.” – George Burns

The martini was originally called “The Martinez,” named after the California Gold Rush town of Martinez, where it was invented. Back then, martinis were made with wine, gin, and an olive. Today, a traditional martini consists of gin and vermouth with some ice and an olive or lemon twist. Many other exciting flavors have evolved such as the cosmopolitan, chocolatini or appletini.

I do have to ask though…do you prefer yours dry, dirty, shaken, or stirred?

Fictional spy 007™, James Bond, always asks for his vodka martini to be “shaken, not stirred.” And, so can you with the help of Amaretto; even if you’re a teetotaler!

Just sit back and enjoy the Shaken not Stirred horse eye!

This refreshing eye hit the grid between December 5, 2013 and January 5, 2014 when Amaretto threw in a TWIST. By breeding any color of Pinto and any color of Palomino together, you had the chance at an all new Pintomino coat.

Each new Pintomino came with the Shaken not Stirred eye. The best part is the coat and the eye DOES have the ability to pass!

Even horses love cocktails!
Let’s not forget that Amaretto has a special consumable for your horse called the Amaretto Cocktail. This one time use cocktail will increase energy, happiness and fervor by 5% and decrease hunger and thirst by 5%. Even I’d drink to that!

So, take a moment to relax while sipping on a martini*, by breeding the Shaken not Stirred eye, or by treating your horse to a cocktail consumable and start feeling like the international spy of mystery that you are!

Until next time…Cheers and Happy Breeding! 🍸

*Always drink responsibly!

Cold? Need a blanket?

Hello Amaretto! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day! Tomorrow marks the first day of summer! WOOT!!

So there are a few things that I still need to shine a spot light on that was hiding in 6.01 and one of them is the Blanket trait!

Take a look at this Celtic Knot and Mosaic blanket!

These blankets do have the ability to pass on, there is a catch you can not at this time combine a saddle and a blanket you can only have one or the other.

The Blanket trait is one of many exciting possible traits that can come from breeding “Starter Horses”.

You can have a chance at one of these exciting Blanket traits by breeding any horse with a starter horse or by breeding together two starter horses.

There are a few more exciting things that I still have to spotlight! This is Ava over and out! Happy breeding everyone!

Hey everyone

What is a blanco? Well Blanco’s are K-9s that come from breeding two K-9s of the same color coats together. For example, breeding two Tan Tri-Color Beagles together could produce a Blanco Beagle.

Breedable Spotlight: Anubis Horse & K-9

Happy Hump Day Fellow Breeders

This is the second in a series of Connections where I’ll tell you a little bit about some specific breedables and what inspired their creation. Today, I’m spotlighting the Anubis Horse & K-9.

What is Anubis?

Anubis is the Greek name of a god associated one of the most frequently represented deities in ancient Egyptian art. Usually depicted, standing or kneeling, as a canine or a man with a canine head, ears pointed. He was associated with mummification and considered a protector of graves and cemeteries.

Anubis was depicted in black, a color that symbolized regeneration, life, and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming. Being the color of the fertile silt of the River Nile, to Egyptians, black, also, symbolized fertility and the possibility of rebirth in the afterlife. Anubis’ female counterpart is Anput.

Amaretto has two breedables that pay homage to the great Anubis.

Haven Horse – Anubis

Amaretto Breedables offers a reward system called Horse Haven. When you send your Horse to Horse Haven you will receive a number of points based on the number of traits and age for a particular Horse. Once you have accumulated enough points, you can use these points to purchase an array of items from the Horse Haven Vendor such as Pet Food, Healing Kits and our unique Horse Haven Horses.

On Tuesday, July 17, 2012, we added Haven Horse – Anubis to the Horse Haven vendor. It comes in random gender with beautiful Egyptian Gold eyes.

The Haven Horse – Anubis are NOT able to pass their coats, but, the Egyptian Gold eye DOES have the ability to pass.

When you breed a Horse Haven Horse (whether it is with another Horse Haven Horse or any other horse) you DO have an increased chance at receiving a random Charmed Horse.

The non-Charmed offspring of a Haven Horse do NOT have an increased chance of producing a Charmed Horse.

Enchanted K-9 – Anubis

Enchanted K-9s are very special K-9s that can be born at random from ANY K-9 breeding combination.

https://k9.amaretto.wiki/index.php?title=Enchanted_Anubis

Enchanted K-9s are NOT able to pass their coats, eyes or collars. However, you could get extremely lucky and birth another Enchanted K-9.

When you breed an Enchanted K-9 (whether it is with another Enchanted K-9 or any other K-9) you DO have an increased chance at receiving another random Enchanted K-9.

The non-Enchanted offspring of Enchanted K-9s do NOT have an increased chance of producing Enchanted K-9s.

Other Egyptian Inspired Horse Traits

Ankh Branding – Out to Pasture

Eye of Horus – Albino Eye

Egyptian Eyes – All NEW with the v6.01 update

Don’t delay, breed like an Egyptian today!

Until next time…HAPPY BREEDING!
